Recommended Reading
The following books are recommended for those interested in the science and spirituality dialogue.
Books by Stephen Jay Gould

Stephen Jay Gould is most notably remembered for his "Punctuated Equilibrium" theory to explain the gaps in the fossil record.  Even though I disagree with Gould's NOMA concept, I referenced it in the blog.  There are a number of other books that I have enjoyed reading.

Stephen Jay Gould's exposition of his Non-Overlapping Magensteria concept.

Gould's outstanding reflections in Natural History doesn't get any better than this!

Read this masterpiece on evolutionary theory by one of it's greatest explainers.

Books by John Polkinghorne
This is one of John's best. Is belief in God incompatible with acceptance of modern science, including evolutionary theory? Not according to John Polkinghorne, particle physicist and theologian!

The modern Christian is being equipped to address Christianity's relevance to a scientific age. Don't let Christian dolts like Jerry Fallwell and Pat Buchannan fool you. In this book, John addresses Christianity's place as the only theology that can incorporate modern physics into its worldview.

The Faith of a Physicist is the book that I recommend above all others to introduce Christians to the concept of a scientific faith.

Other Books of Interest

Ian Barbour's book is relevant even though it was originally published in 1989. I highly recommend it as a good general survey of the interaction of religion and science.

Jurgen Moltmann's masterpiece explores the boundaries of science and spiritual wisdom.
